JAX! Baseball question.

OK, I'm playing MVP 2004 on the PS2 right. and I hit the ball off to left field and it got called "foul" AFTER it was passed 3rd base. now what I wanna know is this. I thought it was only a "foul ball" IF it crossed the line BEFORE 3rd base. Am I right or is the game right?

The ball is foul if it passes the foul line even after 3rd base if it has not touched the ground in fair territory before passing the 3rd base line.

Example 1: I hit the ball. It lands in fair territory, but then rolls pass the foul line before passing 3rd base. This ball is foul.

Example 2: I hit the ball. It lands in fair territory and stays in fair territory after passing third base, then rolls past the foul line. This ball is fair.

Example 3: I hit the ball and it pass the third base line but has not touched the ground at all. After passing third, the ball then goes past the foul line. This ball is foul.

The only exception to example three is if someone tries to catch the ball in foul territory and it hits their glove and then falls out, that ball is then fair. But if they don't touch the ball, then it's foul.

If your fly is undone, and you're an infielder, the umpire will signal to you.
If you fly is undone and you're an outfielder, you're out of luck.
The only exception is if the player has forgotten to wear underpants, in which case the opposing team is allowed to point, shout and make fun of the low-fly player.

Is that like a ground rule double?

And Dwim, MVP is a real good game, Mind you that the last time I played a baseball game was on the sega genesis. The only thing that bugs the shit out of me is the music. I.E. if a white guy is walking to the plate to bat, they play country. if it's a black guy then it's rap and so on and so forth, it's just kind of stereotypical

Let me clarify (and I don't know if this would translate into a video game):

A ball that flies down the line depends on nothing more than where it LANDS. The position of the player is immaterial. If the left fielder is standing one step inside of the foul line and the ball goess off his mitt, yet ends in fair territory, it is fair. If he is standing one step inside fair territory and the ball bounce off his mitt and lands in foul ground, it is a foul ball.

Rich isn't wrong in his third reason. It just seemed a like it was missing a bit...
